Who am I?
Hello everyone, my name is Ms. Hennington and I am an Elementary Education Teacher!
Career Goals:
I'm an Elementary Education Teacher, and I constantly enjoy surrounding myself with children and developing my understanding of them. Every child is remarkable, and it is, therefore, my mission to make sure every child has the resources they need in and out of the school environment to succeed.
This is Professional Portfolio gives me the resources to continuously strive and make sure that each child, regardless of age, gender, socioeconomic status, gender-identity, race, etc., receives the proper education that they are entitled to. Every child deserves the right to learn in an environment that is best suited for their individualized needs.
Therefore, my education will continue to grow and develop because neither my students nor the school system will cease to evolve. It is my duty as a teacher to be knowledgeable, understanding, and compassionate, and I must always exemplify the "child before student" motto through my teaching practices and involvement in my school community.
My career goal can be stated as:
As a teacher, I will strive to question the unquestionable and understand the misunderstood, so that each child has an equal chance at success.
I graduated in May 2020 from Appalachian State University with a Bachelor's Degree in Elementary Education.
Currently, I am still enrolled at App State as a graduate student. I am getting a Master's Degree in Reading Education and a graduate certificate in Autism.
I am looking to teach in the southern part of Florida, where my family lives. I will be moving to
Flordia in May 2021.
